Events suspension at Almeida Junior shopping malls

In line with all the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and municipal health authorities, Neumarkt Shopping is temporarily suspending all events that gather more than 100 people that would take place in the shopping mall in the next 15 days. The project remains operational with normal hours. 

We are reinforcing the hygiene of all areas of the mall and making hand sanitizer (alcohol gel) available at several points: entrances, food courts, concierge, next to elevators, baby changing facilities, parking spaces. The mall also established a new protocol for cleaning up shared contact areas, such as tables, railings for ramps and escalators and payment machines.

“Continente Shopping” mall plans musicals, Boi-de-Mamão (“Papaya Ox”) traditional play and activities for the week

Greater Florianopolis metropolitan area is one of the main technological poles in Brazil. The tourism and retail industries also have a strong presence there. Continente Shopping is located precisely in this area in the city of São José, right next to the capital city of Florianopolis. In order to celebrate the city’s anniversary, Continente Shopping has assembled a special program full with activities and entertainment for the children and families alike.

On March 19th, the city celebrates the 270th anniversary of its founding. The attractions however start earlier next Saturday, the 14th and they include marvelous musicals, and some celebration of our historical and cultural heritage (with the Boi-de-Mamão and workshops for the children). On the first day there shall be a crown making workshop and the Princesses Musical. On Sunday, the 15th, a plasticine workshop will take place as well as a Peter Pan storytelling activity – those will be plenty of fun for the kids.

On the 19th (a public holiday in the city), Continent will promote a celebration of our historic and cultural legacy with the theatrical staging of the Boi-de-Mamão story. Then, the Enchanted Forest musical will tell the story of a happy girl and her adventures with her friend, a bear, with whom she lives. Next Saturday (21st), there will be a paper toy workshop for the children and on Sunday (the 22nd), all families will be able to enjoy the spectacle “An adventure on the high seas”. This spectacle tells the story of the little shark who has become an internet phenomenon.

Did you know all Almeida Junior malls have a “Family Area”?

All Almeida Junior malls believe in promoting the well-being and comfort of their visitors. Amongst the areas available in the 6 malls that are part of our chain, we highlight the “Family Area”: it is indeed special because it has that touch of home warmth. It contains baby changing stations, an area for feeding babies and infants, a family restroom, as well as a toy library and a resting area.

 

The main goal of those areas is to meet the needs of the families, especially those with small children that require diaper changing or a place to breastfeed or to heat up baby food. For your convenience, those environments were carefully designed, with attention to each detail, including lighting and ambiance (with pleasant colors). Some restrooms are exclusively for disabled people and others are specially designed for children (with children dimensions).

Infrastructure

For women carrying infants, our infrastructure is ideal: it gives them comfort and tranquility while breastfeeding. There are individual cabins with armchairs to provide privacy at this precious moment. For bigger children, there are special children chairs for eating. And there are also baby changing stations with individual baby changing tables and extra sinks for hygiene.

We did not forget other accompanying members of the family or friends, who can enjoy our resting areas while the children play in the toys library which provide children tables and chairs so that they can read books, play and color.
