Santa Catarina is welcoming Susana Barbosa, editorial director of ELLE Brasil and a member of the international BoF 500 list, which recognizes the most influential figures in the global fashion industry. The journalist is featured in events across Almeida Junior shopping centers throughout May. With stops in cities such as Balneário Camboriú, Blumenau, and Joinville, the group is investing in fashion talks that expand access to content and discussions traditionally concentrated in the Rio–São Paulo axis.
The events propose reflections on behavior, leadership, lifestyle, and the market, creating spaces for exchange that bring audiences closer to contemporary female perspectives and journeys. The guest leads conversations addressing transformations in the fashion market, the repositioning of major brands, and luxury as an experience connected to culture.
The program takes place across different cities in the state, with formats tailored to each shopping center. At Balneário Shopping, for example, the event gathered around 80 attendees last Tuesday, featuring Susana Barbosa alongside Clemilda Thomé, co-founder of Neodent and author of the book Afortunada, in a conversation mediated by Andrea Gappmayer, a professional with an international career in fashion. The program also included an exclusive moment at the Dolce & Gabbana store.
At Neumarkt Shopping, the mall positions itself as a fashion hub in the city by hosting Susana Barbosa for a talk followed by a cocktail reception for invited guests. Meanwhile, at Garten Shopping, the highlight is the Garten Fashion Trends event, which brings together major national and international brands such as Levi’s, Colcci, Le Lis Blanc, and Luiza Barcelos. During the event, Susana participates in a commented fashion show, translating runway trends into everyday looks for customers.
Throughout the circuit, the talks bring together invited guests, fostering meaningful connections and expanding dialogue around the challenges and opportunities within the industry. “This initiative was created to increase women’s access to relevant content for female entrepreneurship. Bringing names like Susana to Santa Catarina shows that this representation can also be found beyond major urban centers,” says Aline Righi.
